Long Time Gone!

Well.... ITS BE AWHILE!! Not a lot has been going on with us. We recently went to California for Casey's sisters wedding!! She was so beautiful and we are so happy for you guys! Of course I left the camera at home so there will be pictures posted when I see the ones the photographer took! And we also celebrated our 3 year anniversary yesterday! We went to Saltgrass Steakhouse then we played at walmart. So classic :)

Casey also got me these BEAUTIFUL flowers!! :)

Other than those two exciting things nothing new has been going on with us! The boys are still the boys lol. They are learning more and more everyday. Noah says so many words now it's crazy! Kai started potty training and he is so so cute... I'll leave that for another post... and Noah still has no teeth! We miss and love you all!!

Hope everyone had a great day yesterday and was able to celebrate the day of LOVE! My favorite holiday. Well... to tell you about mine. I woke up and Casey was gone... of course lol. So I started making our Valentines breakfast... courteously of angela's sugar loaf blog... y'all should check it out sometime!!! (over on my side bar).

Then Casey decided to come home with these :)... also some Krispy Kremes (which were saved for today because he didn't know I was making breakfast)... which I have been craving lately... and a balloon for Kai. Video to be shown below... (kai loves balloons btw.)

Later that night we went to the Riverwalk and I was so bummed because I FORGOT OUR CAMERA! We had never been and we got all dressed up, yes I wore high heels!!, so I was excited to take some cute pictures. Oh well... If anyone ever visits San Antonio PLEASE visit the riverwalk. It is possibly one of the most amazing places I've ever been. It is the San Antonio river with restaurants and shops on both sides and it has so much history behind it. We ate at Rita's on the River.. which is an amazing mexican restaurant and had a mariachi band play some awesome music and sing the whole time... not to mention we were outside and the weather was PERFECT. Kai and Noah had a blast listening to them and clapping and laughing with them. Then we took a boat ride on the river where they explain the history of all of the buildings and the Alamo, etc. Very cool to say the least and we had a GREAT time. I have realized I need to get out more. There is so much to do in this great city and I don't want to miss the opportunity while we are living here to experience it ALL.

Well.... we haven't done anything for his birthday YET. We are celebrating this Friday with some people in the ward and are going to do his cake and singing and all that fun stuff. So more pictures to come later. But I just wanted everyone to know how old my baby is getting. I can't believe it's already been 2 years since I had him. He talks all the time and is such a big help. I can't express how much I am thankful for him and his sweet spirit... I know I know I say it all the time but it's true. When we went grocery shopping yesterday he likes to throw all the things in the cart but he saw cars mac n cheese and HAD to have it. He carried it around the store smiling at everyone and holding it up saying "cars mac n cheese! bye bye!" So, that was his birthDAY dinner. Here are a few pictures of Kai and his first day being 2!

Happy Birthday Noah!

Saturday was Noahs 1st birthday! He was so adorable. We haven't celebrated quite yet but I tried to make the day as fun for him as possible. We went to McDonalds and played on the playground then on Sunday we had some cake and opened a few presents from us and his grandma Terri and Aunt Jen and his cousins! I can't believe how time flies. I feel like I just had him and now he's already a YEAR!! He looks so much like Casey too it's scary.

unaware of all the things that should make you worried or upset.

I want to think the world if fair.
That everyone is honest and good.
I want to believe that anything is possible.
I want to be oblivious to the complexities of life
and be overly excited by the little things again.
I want to live simple again.

I don't want my day to consist of computer crashes,
mountains of paperwork, depressing news, how to survive
more days in the month that there is money in the bank,
doctor bills, gossip, illness and loss of loved ones.

I want to believe in the power of simple hugs, a kind word,
truth, justice, peace, dreams, the imagination, mankind, and
making angels in the snow..

So.........here's my chequebook and my car keys, my credit cards,

RECAP OF GOOD NEWS

Since our camera decided to go MIA for the past two weeks, I have to post about other things besides "hey everyone! Come see how cute my kids are!" Until our camera decides to pop up again, I've looked everywhere and can't find it, I will be posting without pics. But some good news on my end...

I start school again on March 21st. I am starting with 2 online classes (secretly I wish they had more) and then if they have any of the classes I need to take during summer I will be taking those. I have about a year of prereqs left and then I will be applying to Pharmacy school at UT in Austin. Wish me luck! I am super excited to start something new again.... that doesn't consist of making babies lol. Maybe in a few years we will have another.

I finally did my fit test at lifetime... and oh baby. My actual body age is 18! Which I have been feeling is more of age 53. I also have 12.4 percent body fat... not that anyone cares... but I thought I was around the 15-16 percent body fat percentage. And yes... he used a caliper so it was pretty accurate. I also have super buff biceps... my strength is 76! Which is in the excellent category for women. Sorry to brag to myself I am just trying to make fitness a bigger part of my life. On the downside.... My cardio is not good by ANY means. SO I have been going to the gym everyday and I have finally gotten myself to run at a 5.5 mph pace for 25 minutes. Its almost 3 miles so that is becoming a big improvement for me. My goal is to be running at a 7.0 MPH for 30 minutes but we still have quite a ways for that to happen. P90X isn't going so great.. I have ZERO motivation to workout by myself in my living room. I am hoping between the running and maybe a few group classes here and there I can maybe make up for the lack of P90X.

I have been eating better and feel amazing! Yes... switching out diet soda for regular has been a challenge but makes so much difference.

I have started to read the book of mormon again while caseys gone on my own time. I can really study the scriptures when I have all the time of day to do it.

Noah turns ONE on Saturday! And Kai TWO on the following Saturday! I can't believe it. I feel like I'm getting old. We don't know what we are going to do for their birthdays yet... we don't really know any little kids here but have a huge ward so I may just invite all the moms I know and have their kids come even though they aren't the same age. It will still be a fun little get together.

Casey is still working his bum off. the weather has been about 28 degrees with A LOT of wind so it's been harder the past couple days... I haven't minded because secretly I like having someone to stare at all day.

How can one thing taste SO good but yet make me feel SO bad?

I don't even know what a "carb" is. So I urban dictionar-ied it and it came as this:

Carbohydrate: Any group of organic compounds that collaborate with sugar, starch, cellulose, gum and other crap and servers as a major energy source in animals.

YeP. That's about right.

Since I used to work at a gym I got to know the term "good carbs, bad carbs" very well. I know that good carbs are stuff such as brown rice, whole wheat bread, and all of the other non-flavorful brown stuff we typically don't pick up from the grocery store. And bad carbs are the yummy stuff like doughnuts, cake, cookies, candy, flour tortillas filled with beans and cheese (you get the picture)

So while I have been grocery shopping I have been trying to incorporate some of these so called good carbs into our pantry. I have been buying brown rice, whole wheat bread, turkey bacon, lean meats etc only to find that a month later, they are all still sitting in the pantry.

I have tried the whole no carb low carb diet thing and for just ONE week of doing this I felt AMAZING! I had so much energy, my tummy was not bloated, when I sat down I didn't have to pull my pants over my fluff, AND the scale had generously gone down about 3 numbers! I haven't felt that good in so long!

Until I took a trip to the nearest McDonalds and ate a hot n spicy. I thought "why not? it's one burger! And I've already lost 3 pounds.What will this hurt me?" Well it did. I ate and ate and ate.

Now... I have kept the pounds off but feel like poo again. And of course it just makes me want to eat.

So the point of this post... I know you all are wondering by now is...

WHERE DO I FIND THAT MOTIVATION FOR THE GOOD CARB FOODS AGAIN???

Our first lake trip

Coming from Arizona (and a very small town at that) and having a bunch of friends who would go to the lake, go quading, or camping every weekend, I REALLY REALLY MISS IT! And since we FINALLY got to take our boys on the lake I was SO EXCITED!! This was back in July and I completely forgot to post this! The boys loved it. Noah was only 5 months old but he still had a blast. This was in Austin, TX at lake Travis. We went with some people Casey works with. I really wish we were able to get out and do the outdoors stuff more. One day we will live in the country with all the fun toys... if not hopefully Kai and Noah will so we can visit.

I always wonder why I was so fortunate with a kid who actually LIKES to clean.
Maybe I "trained" him well?
If Kai sees a drawer open, he closes it.
If he sees a toy out of place and he's not playing with it, he puts it away.
If he sees me doing the dishes, he opens the dishwasher and has to help.
For a couple weeks now whenever I am unloading the dishwasher he always has to pull everything out and stack similar dishes together and hand them to me to put away. Just the other night tho I decided I would let him try loading the dishwasher for the first time. Let me say... he's a natural!

Park and Ride

Now that they are both a little older and can walk... it's becoming fun to take them to do things... especially the park. They have SO much fun. Noah like to eat things like sand and rocks etc. and Kai loves to be a boy. I love that they are so close.

Rule#4 When one yells.... hehehe TOP MOM hehehe TOP MOM hehehehehehehe TOOOPPP hehehe. Do as told.
Rule#5 If if fact you do not "top" when told.. you will experience matter projecting itself from one's mouth. This is frowned upon.
Rule#6 If this does happen. Wash blankets as necessary.

Living so far from family makes the holidays a little difficult. My dad and his girlfriend sent us some pretty cool stuff in the mail tho. The boys had a blast tearing up all of the wrapping paper. Once they opened up their 34 cars....literally..... I was left opening up all of the other stuff by myself. They love cars. It was still fun tho. Thanks dad and Kelli for everything!!! Our Apartment

Due to the many requests of what our apartment looks like... I took some pictures last night! Reminder: These are just pictures so to get the full effect you MUST come and visit :) That's the only way of really seeing what it looks like.

First... you walk into the front door!! Note (This is looking at the front door from the inside :)) The laundry room doors are on the right (side of the door handle) as well as our stairs.

Reversing now... walking into the house. To the left we have our laundry room doors.

And immediate left is our stairs! You go up..

And up! Into our loft. Which will one day soon hold a pool table slash table tennis for all your billiards needs.

Happy New Years!!

Were back!!! This new years we spent at home. We were invited to go to dinner with some friends and our ward was also having a party but were unable to find a babysitter last minute. We had just got back the night before at 2:30 a.m. and were a little home sick.. not to mention I had one of those sinus headaches that made me want to roll over and die. So we celebrated with some sparkling cider and sushi (yum!) and had a fun time.

Yep.. me and Kai were dancing. He's a great dance partner and very fashionable.

El Spurs

Yes... we went to a Spurs game last night. I still absolutely HATE them and can't stand the way they like to accidentally trip over their own shoes and get fouls called on the opposing team. That or when they like to hit themselves in the face and also blame it on the opposing team by their most surprised look put on their faces like they can't believe someone didn't see them hit themselves in the face. Either way... I think they play like sissies. But Casey's former basketball teammate now plays for the Milwaukee Bucks and was in town last night, and figuring our love for basketball and the fact that we now live in San Antonio... we'd (or I) would have to get used to the fact that this would be the first of many games we would be going to. Not to mention we haven't seen bogut in about 2 and a half years and Casey was really excited to see his old friend. No... it's not the suns nor will the EVER be.. but the game was still fun, can you say pizza, nachos, screaming and bright lights?! yay.

No worries tho the suns are coming on Monday night and I will be wearing my suns jersey... my hair and back may get to know certain beverages and/or food items on a more intimate level, but that's fine.

This was also Noah's first basketball game. I don't think i've ever seen him more excited. Every time a song would play he would start dancing. And he would scream when the crowd would scream and was laughing and just dancing the whole game. I give the kid props... I wish I could dance the whole game.

R.I.P. Grandma Iverson and Grandma Maggie

My Great Grandma passed away a few months ago. Casey's grandma also passed away more recently. I never had the chance to meet her but from what I hear she was an amazing woman. We were able to attend both funerals. My grandmothers was held in Mesa AZ and his in Logan UT. I never had the chance of meeting his grandma but hear she was a great woman. Attending these two funerals makes me so grateful for my knowledge in the church and knowing that we have the plan of salvation and that I will get to see my grandma again as well as meet Caseys. It is a great feeling knowing that after we pass on from this life we move on and don't just die. It also reminds me of why I am here. After talking to his sister about plans of how to conduct the funeral he talked to me about how a funeral should not be mourned but should be a celebration. He thought we should get balloons and cake lol. He said, yes, they are not here with us on this earth but think about what a great place they are in now? We should be nothing but happy for them. I am glad that so far I have accomplished being sealed to an eternal family and having given two great little spirits a body. There is so much more I want to accomplish while I am here.

Rain Rain Go Away

Back (by back I mean around 3-4 months ago) when we were staying in Farmington, NM we had a lot of rainy days. We were only there for a few days and there really wasn't ANYTHING to do there except go to walmart so being cooped up in the hotel didn't really bother me all that much. Especially with these two cuties. These pics were so cute I had to share. We were on the second story and they were both talking to each other and pointing out the window. I really wish I could speak blah blah so I could understand what they were saying. I'm still working on normal talk with the two.

Since I recently found out what a "tag" was I was tagged in this post :) Thank you to my very very good friend Shalyn!! Let me just tell you a little about her because I want her to know that I LOVE her! We used to be roommates in College and We met through a mutual friend. Shay has been the most bubbly, caring, heart felt person I have ever known... and I sincerely mean that. I love her personality and could be locked in a room with this girl for 5 years and I would love every second. Even since we have lived apart she is one of the few people I keep in contact with. Yes Shay I love you.

Now onto the TAG.

FOUR shows I watch:

1. PRISON BREAK- Yes... Casey and I were introduced to netflix about 3 months ago and watched every episode form front to end in about a week. We watched over 81 hours of this. It's addicting. Casey would be up until 5 in the morning watching and I would catch up while he was at work and when he got home we would watch it until I fell asleep... thats all we did for a week straight. We lived, ate and breathed (I don't know if that is a word) prison break.
2. THE OFFICE- ALSO have watched every episode front to back and just finished a couple days ago. Need I say more? Battlestar Galactica.
3. THE BACHELOR/ BACHELORETTE- I know I know... I get made fun of this on a daily basis. Even though I know that it is scripted and the most complete waist of human spare time... I enjoy it. Maybe it's my feminine romanticism side coming out of me.
4. WHEEL OF FORTUNE- (and family feud, don't forget the lyrics, price is right, deal or no deal) What can I say... I LOVE game shows more than anything else. Now if only I knew how to get on one... Oh and gotta love Judge Judy.... although I only watch her when the kids are taking late naps :)

FOUR things I am passionate about

1. MY HEAVENLY FATHER- Let me just say that he is the reason I am here. He is the reason I have this body to do something great with. He is the reason for my reason. He is what gets me through the hard times and is what gives me the best times. He is the reason for my husband and for my two miracles. He is the light of my life. I could go on and on.
2. MY FAMILY- Nothing on this earth means more to me than my husband and two children. They are there for me, tell me they love me everyday, give me kisses. I don't think I could live a day without them. I would do ANYTHING for them... ANYTHING.
3. TACO BELL- Or can we say MEXICAN FOOD? In general... frick-en-yum. Delicious beans... melted cheese, guac., Carnitas, onion, all wrapped in a warm, homemade tortilla. Yes, my mouth is watering. Everytime Casey and I go to Arizona or Utah the first place he knows to take me is to a mexican restaurant or drive thru. Fili B's run anyone??

I have watched cars 32 times in the past 4 days.

So much infact that I have recently decided to do some research (find out voices, how long it took to make, etc.) on said movie.

OH trust me!! I DO NOT agree to watch said movie more than 2 times per 24 hour period... But when Kai comes to me saying peeeese cars mama.... peeeeeeeese?? mooommeeeeeee!! I can't resist. He has just learned how to say please and thinks that when he says please he gets whatever he wants...

Now why would he think that? (;

Also... I just noticed that it is now pitch black at 5:46p.m.... what is THIS?! I feel like I have cabin fever and I come home from my errands to make dinner and give the kids baths only to realize its only 6! That's 3 more hours till peanuts bedtime! This makes me feel that by 9 it is in fact 1 in the morning.

And it was 77 degrees today. Not that I don't LOVE warm weather.. but I am just thinking that Christmas should in fact be moved to the month of Feb. I can't snuggle up in a blanket and drink hot chocolate by my tree when it is 77 degrees outside. But thats ok.. the christmas music being played all of 15 minutes while cars is not on brings the christmas spirit in!

And Noah now knows how to clap!! He's so cute he claps and pants like a dog haha.

They love cars! I told them to not have too much fun. I guess they took that to heart.

So, since I am using this for kind of journaling purposes I thought I would tell you that I have a huge stomach ache today. Ever since I woke up it's been severe pain. The fatigue and headache came later in the day and I feel like i'm going to die. It's kind of awesome because I haven't been sick in so long and thought that it might be nice to lounge around all day and not clean the house and watch the office from beginning to end sitting on our new couch eating crackers and sprite but no, it was not that glorious. I eat, use the restroom to reverse the food, have to change a babies diaper, have to change ANOTHER babies diaper who is screaming bloody murder because of his diaper rash, go to the other baby who is now sitting at the table screaming because he is hungry, the house is a wreck.... well, you get the picture. And half way through an episode of anything I fall asleep only to be awakened by a crying baby. Also, besides not being able to keep anything down.... I am making Lasagna for dinner. Yumm yumm.

Let's hope this goes away by tomorrow.

And thanks for letting me vent on why I want to rip out my stomach and use it as a pillow so I can go to sleep.... and feel better.

Just realized that made no sense.

Oh and side note... we went to the coolest place for date night last night!! It was a movie theater, but between the rows there was a little isle so you could walk behind seats. And in front of your row was a long table with paper and pens and menus! You order food and drinks and whatever you want and write it on the paper and stick the paper up to act as a flag. The waiter then comes and takes your order and brings you the food to eat while your watching the movie!! I thought this was the greatest thing ever. We went a little overboard and got an appetizer, candy, entree and desert. And surprisingly it wasn't annoying and you couldn't hear everyone talking. I think it was for adults only because they served alcohol so that eliminated any children or teenagers who go there for the sole purpose of annoying you. It was AWESOME!

Yes... you heard that right! I have 5, and not only do I have 5... but 4 of them are under the age of 3. I have decided that since heavenly father was not granting me with girls, I would take in 3 of them.

What are you thinking?? I know I know. But these girls are the cute-est!

WARNING! My sob story as to why I decided to start babysitting:
I decided to do something with my time during the day instead of watch court shows and play ball with the boys. I felt like I was waisting my days doing nothing of importance and I have never been a fan of the "stay at home mom" type. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my kids and can't imaging being away from them for work, which is why I don't work, but I have always been one to be in school and work and always be going and going, and have always been very self sufficient. When I got pregnant my whole view of life changed. I couldn't get a job with a newborn (really I didn't want to be away from him :)) and DEFINITELY didn't want a job with a newborn and being pregnant. Now that the boys are getting older I really miss having a challenge and miss the hectic lifestyle. So I decided I need more of a challenge. I, however, miss my kids if they are taking naps, or even if I am not sitting on the couch right next to them. So I wanted to do something where I could still be around them all day. I jumped on craigslist and before you know it I am now a babysitter 3 days a week! It defiantly keeps me busy and also gives Kai some playmates. I have also been baby hungry this past couple weeks and this is filling the void of having another lol.

Aren't they cute?? And yes... those are block giraffes... don't be jealous. So yeah... yay for new news!

Living in Texas most of our married life has made us recent Longhorn fans (don't worry, we still like the Utes and Casey wanted me to say that it's OK to like more than one team because the BCS is messed up and Texas and Utah will never play each other anyways, for all the guys who are reading this blog.... and I have NO idea what that means... he just made me put that.) When we were living in Austin and visiting Lubbock on a trip last month, the Longhorns (Austin) had a rival game against Texas Tech (Lubbock). We of course had to root for the Longhorns since we were living in Austin at the time and we enjoy the longhorn symbol (see front of van).

Side note: Why are we white trash? Because we have horns on our van and we tie our mattress to the top of it because it's the only way to get it home.

So when we went to walk around the college before the game started (in our burnt orange colors) about 2,000 students were waiting outside for the game to start (in their black and red colors). Needless to say we stuck our like 4 orange construction cones. We... along with our babies.... walked by them and one guy yells out "HEY EVERYBODY!! BOO THAT GUY!!!" followed by 1,892 people boo-ing at us! (I'm assuming 108 of them decided to not join in) It was exciting. We walked around, shared a papa john's pizza, and ended up watching the game at Texas roadhouse.

News Flash!!! To all of those who didn't know we travel.... A LOT!!.... now you know. And also, if anyone who really knows me, knows that when I was little I used to be OBSESSED with aliens. I used to collect them, collect little figurines, buy alien books and read about them... my room was decked out (Yes I as a weird child... and am still a weird adult :) ) So when we ended up is Roswell, NM for a week I almost had a heart attack because Roswell is ALIEN TOWN!!!!! So Casey took me to all the little museums and we bought a few souvenirs. I absolutely had one of the best little trips there. Here are a few pictures!!

This is kind of humorous and Casey said that I should blog about it so here I am....

Since we just moved in to our apartment and we have always had corporate furniture, we are without a couch. We found the one that we are going to buy at Ashley furniture. We went back Saturday night to take some measurements of it to make sure it is going to work in our living room. While Casey is taking measurements and I am sitting on the floor writing them down, a lady walks up to us and starts talking. After about 5 minutes of talking she tells us that she is the manager of the store (and of course Kai is jumping all around). Anyways to say the least I felt embarrassed that my child was acting like a normal 2 year old. So as we both stop doing what we are doing and stand up to talk to her like normal human beings, Noah starts crying. So I turn and pick him up out of his car seat. The second i pick him up he PROJECTILE VOMITS all over the rug and ME!!!!

I am standing there COVERED in puke. The manager and Casey take off running to the bathroom to get me some paper towels. They come back and as I am cleaning off I turn around and the pen that I had been writing with is now in Kai's hand and getting to know the couch cushions on a more serious note :S

AAHHH!! So here I am, standing in front of the manager of the store, covered in puke and also all over the store rug, and the couch is being colored on by my other son. To say the least, we have decided that is for sure the couch we are going to purchase :)

Kai's Mohawk

Well, this was a fun idea. Kai's hair was getting a little long and "girlie". After much deliberation on how his hair was making him look like kai-ina versus a Kai or more masculine Malakai, we decided to see what his hair would look like with a mohawk. So Casey ran and grabbed the clippers and we clipped away!

Before: Now let's see.... wings, cute, bangs, cute and hides the forehead (He was blessed with my big heed), Blue bonnet look, not so cute.

After: Looking more like a little boy instead of a little girl. Also pulling off the white trash look quite well.

In the end we decided to just shave it all off. But thank you to Kai for letting us decorate his head. :)

This year we went to our apartment complex's halloween party. They had pizza, coloring, a played the movie Sleepy Hollow in their gym and we could all bring blankets and watch. We didn't stay for very long because the kids were being kids, but we still had a good time. Later that night we snuggled up on the couch watched avatar (a not-so-scary movie).

Sorry I've been a blogging bum lately. We have been really busy. We have recently, by recently I mean last night, moved to San Antonio (of which is am THRILLED about). We will be here for at least the next year. We moved into a 3 bedroom (yay for everyone having their own rooms and better nights sleep :D) with a loft and our porch is a solarium, which means that is a basically a big extension to the living room. We are also about a 15 minute drive from sea world, six flags, and the river walk. Woo Hoo year long passes and lots of Shamu bonding time. I can't express how happy I am to finally be somewhere and know we aren't leaving. We go to our new ward this Sunday and I can't wait to meet everyone. It is gorgeous here and everyone is welcome for a visit..... or 2 ;)

Kai's Swim Lessons

Kai has officially completed his first year of swim lessons! He had to have been the worst kid there as far as attitude. Granted it was exactly at nap time so he was really cranky. But I must say he did learn how to do all the things that were taught. I missed a few days due to going to Tucson (see below post) and some other things, but we caught right back up. He did such an amazing job and we can't wait for next year when both the boys will be in swim lessons. It's times like these where I am so proud to be a mom and love doing activities with them. When I was little I was always excited to have kids to take them to swim lessons, ball practice, watching their games. I LOVE doing stuff like this with them and seeing them grow and learn new skills.

We are a month apart and our boys are 3 months apart lol. I love her and her sweet baby... and baby to be.

I am attempting to get all my pictures in haha. I have just been so busy with the kids and every free second I get I like to watch a movie or workout. It's my only peace and quiet... Speaking of, I did my hair for the first time in 2 weeks today. Yes it felt amazing... and only to go to walmart HA! Story of my life.

Anywho.... While up in Taylor I had to help my family move back to pinetop... I am so sorry that you guys have to live there again. My heart goes out to you. Yes, I grew up there and yes, I was gone the day after I graduated... not because I wanted to be away from my family... trust me I missed the heck out of them... but because Pinetop is a small small town and ugh. I just don't like it. I DO however like and miss quading and hanging out outside. That was one thing I did miss. Here are some pics of the rest of my time there and what we like to do in small towns :)

By the way... this is pretty much my best friend in the world.. Besides my husband of course. She is the most genuine, gorgeous, sweet, kind hearted, friendliest, humblest, great person I know. I look up to this girl in so many ways. She is turning 16 this month and having a sweet 16 party. I am so happy for her and all that she has accomplished in life. She never complains about anything. Never talks bad about anyone. Is so good in the church, is the BEST sister I could have ever asked for. And shes got the looks too haha. But seriously I love this girl with all my heart.

We had to drive straight to my mom's house after we got off the plane and had lunch with my cousin and her Hubby. I must say I do miss my family a lot being so far away. You never really know how much the importance of being close to family is until you don't have them next to you all the time. For the fourth we went to a Rodeo up in Taylor and fireworks were after that. It was a lot of fun.

Hurricanes and Plane Rides! Part 2 :)

Hurricane season was another exciting one for us. We always seem to be in south texas every year when this rolls around. Ha. As we were packing to move, hurricane Alex decided to come and hit right through brownsville. So, this made us pack a little faster. We were going to stay there another month but when they started boarding up windows, and then boarding up OUR windows while we were still inside we decided to leave then and there.

July update! Part 1 of 23

Has it really been over a month since I have updated?! Wow! The boys and I have been traveling and got back to Texas and then just finished up our move to AUSTIN!! I love it here. Even though we have only been here about 4 days and I haven't had a phone or T.V. it's absolutely gorgeous and so much fun! I have taken so many pictures to capture our vacation and there is so many I will only be doing a little a day... it's hard to find time between two boys and unpacking. I'm sorry I didn't get to see all of you who I wanted to. I had so much going on with passports and errands to run I didn't get to see a lot of people who I wanted to. I plan to come down again in the next month or so to visit and promise I will stop by! Anywho... before we left on our little tour of Arizona and Utah we took a little trip to the Brownsville zoo. It was suprisingly awesome and one of the best zoos I have ever been to.

Kai stuck his has in bird poo. When he stuck it in his mouth the face was priceless... I didn't have my camera to get it tho.

Broken Camera

Yep, our camera is broken. I don't know how it happened. Casey's had the same camera for years so maybe it was just its time. Well, I sadly won't be posting new pictures except the ones I have on my computer but nothing new. The kids and I fly to Arizona June 30th!!! I am so excited to visit everyone again! I'll miss Casey but it will be a good time. I should be there for about 3 to 4 weeks and I can't wait to see you all! I am also going to Utah for about a week to visit Casey's family and take my sister to Temple square and do some shopping. I can't wait. Noah just rolled over for the first time about 6 minutes ago... and of course I missed it because I was putting Kai down for his nap :( Yes, I am sad. Hopefully he does it again sometime soon! For my birthday this year Casey had to work :( But we later celebrated at a waterpark on South Padre Island!! It was fun but since Kai had previously lost our camera card we didn't get any pictures :( Even though he wasn't here we thankfully made some pretty good friends out here who threw me a little party :) We sang karaoke and played water volleyball. They also made some GREAT barbecue. Yumm.

Guitar anyone?!

With all the time I have during nap times and at night before Casey gets home... I have decided to teach myself how to play the Guitar! I can play the Flute, Piccolo, Trombone, and Piano and thought why not add in another instrument? I want to play it all! But this is especially something I have been wanting to do for awhile. So far... This week I have learned a few drills to practice. I have also learned to play Wonderwall by Oasis, Sweet Home Alabama, And Our Song by Taylor swift. I am reverting back to lessons that actually teach you chords instead of learning to play songs and not really knowing what I am playing (notes wise). So for chords the only ones I have memorized so far are C and G. The others I am slowly getting. But yes it takes awhile. I want to be able to actually read the music. I love the way the guitar sounds and love being able to make such incredible sounds come from a few strings tied on a piece of wood. All instruments fascinate me, they always have... hence me being in marching band in high school haha. I am hoping to be able to really understand and play Guitar somewhat decent by the end of summer. Also... I am now FINALLY studying to get my massage license which is WAY overdue. Casey and I got married when I had about 3 months of school left then we moved to Florida so I never have had the chance to get it. I moved the day after my graduation and have regretted not getting it since. So wish me luck when the time comes to take this 225 dollar test. Ugh... it intimidates me. Oh!! And.... because I know you all care... I am down to 131!! and that's WITH my clothes on!! Only about 6 pounds to go before I can say that I am where I want to be. I am just happy that I am almost back to the 120's! haha. Never thought I'd be saying that. Anywho... those are just some tidbits on what's been up with me lately :)

The Bachelorette

The new season the The Bachelorette has begun!! I love this show and mainly fell in love with it when Jillian (the last bachelorette) was the bachelorette. I have been hooked since. This is Ali. She was on last season's The Bachelor. She decided to pick her job over her guy.. which in my opinion was retarded. She is a cute girl tho, so hopefully this season is enjoyable :) Tonight the first 25 guys rolled in. She only got to keep 15 of them. I think her decisions were O.K. Only a few guys stood out to me and let me tell you why...

This is Roberto. He, from the second he stepped out of the limo, was my favorite. You can tell he is sincere, honest, comes from a good family and good background, is there for the right reasons, and is pretty much the whole package that she is looking for. After talking with Ali, and doing a little salsa dancing, he got the first impression rose. He got my first impression rose for the season too. He is the guy I'm rooting for to win :) (Everyone has to have a favorite)

Jonathan, You talk too much for your own good. I feel that Ali would like you a bit more if you let her get a word in. Your a cool guy tho.

Justin, also known as Rated-R....Maybe you are here for the right reasons. Apparently no one else thinks you are which is why all of the guys voted you off. I have a feeling that since Ali kept you around, you will be the drama that makes this show interesting to watch and I thank you for being on the show to keep me entertained. And Ali.... what are you thinking with this guy? He is tooooooo weird to even remember his name. We will call him toupee man. I think toupee has an anger issue. Not to mention he acts like a 45 year old petafile who sits at home and drinks his champagne and smokes his cigar. Ew. Please don't keep him in the running too much longer.

As for American Idol... I have been watching all season and my favorite person is now in the top two.

Lee Dewyze. You may just possibly be my new favorite singer. Chad Kroger (from Nickelback) has had my "ears" for several... SEVERAL years. He has the best voice I have ever heard. I now know why the doctors say to not put your child to sleep with any loose objects. Exhibit A. Kai almost EVERY morning is snuggled up in his warm blankie. At least his head is.

Now, don't get me wrong... It's cute and he does look comfortable! But can he BREATH?! Every night I come in and he somehow pulls off his pants and throws the blanket over his head. Who said anything about cold feet? This kid has a cold head.

And Exhibit B.

Following in his brothers footsteps? This child during nap time (which he spends oh so peacefully in his boppy pillow on the couch, will consistently pull the blanket up over his head. I have now switched to nap times with no blankets.

So the question remains... If they sleep with blankets over their faces... Do they wake up ok?

And it was embarrassing. No, I was not alone. In fact, I was in the middle of the gym. right smack dab in the middle. Where everything around you is pointing straight towards the middle. I had just ran a mile and did a little over half a mile on the stair stepper. Casey then drilled me on the ladder up and down and up and down. (Let's just say I was very tired, out of breath, wanting to get some mexican food and sit on the couch at this point ;) ) And we had just moved onto the plyometric training platforms.....

You start off on the floor. Jump to the smallest one, then floor up to second, then floor up to third etc. (This picture he is going backwards let me remind you... I was going UP the blocks... not down) Well, I got to the third and said woah, I feel dizzy. I stood there a second, caught my mental state back, or so I thought, and jumped down again. On my way back up to the fourth, my equilibrium threw me off and I tried to catch myself on the platform, missed, fell down, hit my tailbone on the metal bar and the bottom of the one behind me and smacked my head against the top metal bar of the one behind me. I saw everyone laughing. I just fell to the floor and was laughing too although I hurt pretty bad. I fell what seemed to be a good distance down, scraped my shin on the platform when I tried to catch myself and my head and tailbone were throbbing. Let me just tell you that when I feel dizzy, I am going to stop next time :) Shouldn't we get some type of free personal training sessions for ratards like myself who biff it in front of everyone? I mean... c'mon now... We could all use a little help... OBVIOUSLY :)

Please. Do not ever watch E! while this show is on. I watched a good 5 minutes and was on the floor laughing at this sad excuse for television. Shame on E!... One of my favorite t.v. channels (aside from the channels which include the various game shows I watch such as family feud, wheel of fortune, price is right, etc.) But please. I don't even know what this show is supposed to be about but whatever it is it should be taken off air IMMEDIATELY! I actually signed a petition to take off air. It was that bad.

On a side note... have you ever bathed a cat?!

Now THAT should be a new T.V. show. Princess was a great sport. And even though she looked like a skinny cracked out chihuahua with big eyes and a long body, she smelt delicious afterwards :)

Today my hubby turns the BIG 27!!! I can't believe I have known him since he was 24. haha. I actually feel like our relationship is getting longer and thats a good thing :) (You have to remember we got married 3 months to the day of us MEETING each other)

Since Casey wont actually be here today, due to a HUGE work commitment which could be HUGE for him and his career, we had to celebrate last night after he got home from work. So Kai and I made him his favorite cake and attempted to make of of his favorite meals.. chicken alfredo with a salad :) We just sung happy birthday and ate and watched the game! We plan to go do some shopping on the beach for him on his next day off. Here are a few pictures :)

In other events... mothers day was on Sunday! We woke up early and went to church where I got some cookies the young men had made all the women in the ward. We also went to the beach with a bunch of guys from the office. It was fun! I love the beach so why not go with a bunch of people? We also had a couple over for dinner with their two kids which was so nice because I made a friend to hang out with the next few weeks we are here. It was a fun day getting out of the house and spending it with Casey and a bunch of people which I enjoy :) I didn't get too many pictures but these two.

Yay for families!! I love mine and realize more and more every single day the importance of mine and how much they mean to me. I can't wait for many more birthdays and mothers days to come as my boys get older.

Anniversary

Today is our 2 year 1 month 1 week and 5 day anniversary. I just wanted to say i LOVE casey. Yep yep I do. This is the first picture we ever took together. And now we have 2 kids haha. Way to go! I can't believe how far we've come. We are so supportive of each other and I am happy I met him.

Today Shiann, Laura and I went to South Padre Island. (Yes, there are other wives out here :) ) Yay, exciting day until 10 minutes after we got there and Kai decided to try and pick up a bee. Ha ha.... yes, he succeeded in picking it up, and he also succeeded in getting stung. His finger and hand immediately started to swell. He cried :( I hate when he cries. I have never been stung by a bee before but I can only imagine the pain. So, we rushed to CVS after Shi called poison control and got him some Benadryl. He fell asleep and woke up fine! The swelling has gone down completely.

In honor of my most favorite holiday in the whole world, I made mexican food yesterday for Casey's whole office. I was cooking from 4 to 10 and it was so delicious. And of course I forgot to take pictures :( But I made 2 pans of my chicken enchiladas, shredded beef tacos, and a 7 layer dip. Only about 15 of the people came over but it was still fun. We got to celebrate another victory win of the SUNS and yes... they will win the playoffs for all of you who don't already know this. Also, it was Noahs 3rd month birthday!! :) He is such a cutie. Here are some pics of my baby boy... sad he is getting so big :(

Other news in yesterdays events... I got a new hair cut! I call it my mommy hair cut. Most people cut their hair short when they have kids because its easier to do. This is short to me haha. Amy did it when she was in town. Thanks Amy!! Seriously you don't know how much it means to me :) And I LOVE it. I am always afraid to change my hair but when I do I like it.

Also, Kai is now resorting to his younger more intellectual side of things. This is him playing in Noahs bouncer. He thought he was quite comical. Haha.

Also... Now I really feel like a mom. And this is why.

Texas R Us

As most of you know we have moved to Mexico. Well, not MEXICO, but our apartments are literally about an 8th of a mile away from the border. Think I'm kidding? I'm not. Once you exit the freeway if you perhaps miss our turn in you will shortly be driving up to the bridge to enter into mexico. The only thing that separates us and them is some fence and a lot of border patrol. A lot. I actually do love it here. We are about a 30 minute drive from south padre island and the water is so warm and there is just the perfect waves. Our apartment is AWESOME! Black leather furniture nice countertops... can't complain :) Oh and our view of the pool is spectacular. See below :)

I can actually lay out while my children sleep and leave the door open so I can hear them. It's fantastic. Our ward... the only english speaking ward in brownsville, consists of about 100 people. But it's nice and seems like a close knit ward. I am excited to get to know them a little more. We didn't pack up all of our stuff this time. We put the majority of it in storage and only took the necessities with us so unpacking only took a day. I wouldn't mind living here due to the closeness of the beach but would much rather prefer somewhere like california... the water is colder but people speak english. Here I go to walmart and no one speaks english and I am the only white blonde girl here so things get a little awkward. We live in student housing so our doors have A, B, C, and D on them. They are pretty small rooms but we have 4 of them so there is a lot of room. Being so close to the pool we get to expierence all the hundreds of pool parties people throw all day and part of the night. Luckily we are young so we open the door and listen to the music haha. Kai is a flirt with all the college girls. He like to sit on the porch and wave to them all and smile. He's a little stud. He LOVES the beach also. He likes to chase the water going back into the ocean and then when a waves comes and hits him he laughs. He also found his first prized seashell that he would not let go of. We are going to frame it.

Noah is Noah :) Just a 3 month old baby with the whole world to explore. He is now smiling at us and tries to talk to us. We just makes sounds back to us when we talk to him. He is so adorable. Casey's mom and sister flew down to help with the move and help me bring the kids down and also to get a little vacation.

I honestly don't think I could have flown without them. Just look at my baggage! haha.

Ready or not... another summer has begun and hopefully this one goes well :) And I am hoping to update my blog daily with the days events :) Love you all!!

I love toilets

So it's our last day of packing and I wake up eager to get the day started and before I get into it let me tell you our toilet is broken and has been for awhile. Every time you flush if you don't pull the handle up as high as it goes it keeps running. So, I go to the bathroom and it decides to clog. And since it clogs and it keeps running... yes..... it overflowed. And not only did it overflow... it overflowed about a half inch deep worth of water. And of course we are moving so all of our towels are packed. Well... you get the picture. It wasn't a fun morning.

Delicious Meatloaf

One of our friends had us over for dinner and made the BEST meatloaf I have ever had. She cooks for the homeless and told me that this was one of their favorite meals. I had to post the recipe on here for any of you who want a delicious and easy recipe.

~Meatloaf~

2lb. Ground Beef

1 Pkg Meatloaf Mix Seasoning

2 eggs

1/2 cup 2% Milk

1 small onion

3 Cloves of Garlic

3 squirts Ketchup

1/4 cup of Crushed Saltine Crackers (I like to use more to help hold it better. Just add as you go.)

3 squirts Baby Rays BBQ Sauce

Salt and Pepper

~Sauce~

1 Cup of Ketchup

1 Cup of BBQ Sauce

Combine all ingredients in a large bowl. Spray dish or pan with a lot of non stick spray. Place meatloaf in pan. Coat top and sides of meatloaf with half of the sauce and cook at 350 for 30 minutes. Pull Meatloaf out of oven and flip over. Coat remaining side with rest of sauce. Continue cooking at 350 for another 30 minutes. Total cook time is 1 hour and all sides of meatloaf should be covered in sauce. Pull out and enjoy with mashed potatoes or your favorite side dish :)

For easter this year we went to one of Caseys old college friends (Pooyan) house. Pooyans friend from Utah came down and we made some steaks and played around on his basketball hoop he just put in. During dinner we all expierenced an earthquake aftershock. It was pretty cool. We also went to my Grandma Milius' house to do an easter egg hunt with the cousins... well, my cousins, but they are the same age as Kai so technically I call them his cousins. Here are a few pictures of my little man. He did such a good job finding all the eggs.

Haha.... So about a week ago I go in to get Kai out of his crib and he is of course blabbing to himself like he normally does in the morning. When I look in his room I see this....

So I start talking to him and realize he's not moving from his position. Just looking up at me and smiling. I try and pull him up and yep... he's stuck.

Haha... poor kid. I pull his leg out and it was swollen :( Don't worry it went away after about 10 minutes. He was a good sport.

And then the day proceeded as normal from there....

Ever since Kai has been a baby I like to take pictures with him. Its fun to see him grow and get a few snapshots along the way :) Especially since sometimes we run out of things to do while dads at work. Looking at these I can't believe how big he's gotten. SO day 3 rolls around and no.... it's not a good morning. Maybe its the taco bell I caved into last night for dinner or maybe it's the lunch at the oh so delicious costa vida with my friend today... I don't know. I woke up back at 135...... it's ok. tomorrow is another day and I have had my mexican fix..... Softball is tonight with my cousin Candice and I may just go play to burn some extra calories :) We shall see! I'll keep you posted!! Till then.....

I'm now 132.8!!! The food was horrible I must say... well at least the raw broccoli. I can't stand the little thingies that are at the top of the tree. They make me gag. Seriously I have been jumping up and down all morning. Now off to Turbo Jam fat burner. That's all I am going to say because I am so happy. Let's see if tomorrow I go another 3! Doubt it but hey who knows? And I said I was putting the scale away but I can't....

7 day detox diet- Day 1

Not that you have to read this but I am starting a 7 day detox diet that is supposed to help me lose a lot of weight healthily~ if thats even a word :) so I'll be able to keep it off. I am basically blogging about it every day to kinda keep a journal and also keep me motivated, so please bare with me :) For those of you who are interested (and still reading) the website is called 7daydetoxdiet.com. It comes with a grocery list and also a 7 day meal plan to not only detoxify your body but also to help you lose weight. I mean how could you not lose weight by going from eating soda, cookies, frozen foods, and sugary stuff and snacking throughout the day to eating strictly whole organic foods? I along with this am taking the slimquick pills. The commercial looked cool and I read a lot of good reviews about it so what the heck, why not? I actually started the slimquick pills yesterday and I have noticed that they make me not hungry AT ALL. I literally ate half of one of the most amazing steaks I have ever had and that was IT. Yes, I lost a pound and a half yesterday but I can thank not eating for that. SO in a way I can say that the pills are working in suppressing my appetite :) They also gave me a tremendous boost of energy. Can't complain about that either. As far as my detox plan is going, so far eh. Luckily I am taking these pills or I would be absolutely starving right now. The foods actually sound delicious, you just don't get to eat a lot of them. Due to the pills I actually couldn't even finish my breakfast of 1/2 an apple and a piece of bread and couldn't finish my snack which was 1/8 cup of almonds. I am moving onto lunch here in about 30 minutes and the thought of a half apple some broccoli and 1 cup lentil soup actually sounds like a lot of food to me. Not to mention all the water you HAVE to drink with every meal and snack. I guess this is a good thing :) I actually feel great inside. But then again it's only been a few hours. Starting this I weigh 136.2 in the morning before anything. I have a horrible habit of weighing myself about 35 times a day so I am putting the scale away for the week! My goal is to eventually get back to my pre-pregnancy weight of 120.... I could settle for 125 tho. I noticed I was a little too skinny. But mainly this week I am hoping to lose 7-10 pounds to get me over my hump of pregnancy weight I have put on (and lose the belly). After Kai I only got down to 134.2 before I found out I was pregnant again. I couldn't lose the weight for anything so hopefully this time around is different. Wish me luck and I'll be posting again soon!

The elders...

I was coming home from walmart the other day and was pulling my kids out of the car when I was approached by two missionaries. They began to say, "Hi, we are with the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints"... I followed by saying, Oh, I know I am a member of the church. We continued to talk about people I could send their way and how everything was going when my neighbor walked out and started listening. The missionaries then started talking to them and invited them to church. Long story short, they got a non-member who maybe would have never had the chance to hear the gospel, to go and listen and learn about it. I hope Casey and I have the chance to serve a mission together someday. We had the chance when we first got married to go visit his grandparents in Navoo. I loved seeing the work they did and the effect they can still have on people despite their age and location. I am so excited that I have that to look forward to!

Every summer we go out to a new city so Casey and I can work for pinnacle. Although the moving around gets stressful at times I actually enjoy moving to a new place. I think about people who never leave where they grew up and feel blessed that I have the opportunity to see some of the world. This summer we are going to...... dun dun dun dun

BROWNSVILLE, TX!!

It's about 15 minutes away from South Padre Island and about 2 hours away from sea world... yes, I love sea world. So you know what this means, aside from juggling two kids and a full time job, we will be at the beach a good majority of the summer. So far I am the only wife that is going out there, but Casey still has a lot of recruiting to do so hopefully we get some more!

As much as I have loved being in AZ and hanging out with old friends all winter long....... don't worry. We will be back :)
